Rakov is a Belarussian town with the miraculous past. For the first time Rakov was mentioned in 1465. It’s known that this town belonged to many noble and rich magnates (the king Kazimir, Kezhegailo, Sangushki, Oginskiy and other). In 1793 there was built an Uniate Church. Now it’s St. Transfiguration Cathedral. St. Dominic’s Cathedral (neo gothic style) was built in 1906.
Krevo. At this place at the beginning of the 14th century according to the Duke Gedymin’s order there was built a castle (as a defensive installation). That castle became the witness of numerous important events (crusaders invasions, alliances and Krevo Union conclusions) and historic people (Grand Dukes Keistut and Algerd, Yagailo and Vitovt). And finally, since the end of the 14th –beginning of the 15th centuries this place has got the key value in the history of our country.
Boruny is a place, famous for its Uniate Cathedral complex, built in 1747 – а marvelous example of the late baroque.
Golshany. That’s a place where the old king Yagailo asked young Sophia Golshanskaya to become his wife. Later all the dukes Golshanski’s acres became Sapega’s residence. And now there is a 400-year John the Baptist’s Cathedral and just reminding of the past -- the ruins of the magnate’s castle.
The Beniuny’s manor. Here you may not only visit the old complex (built in 1828) but also take part in the knights fights (as well as some knights’ funs, castle gates assault, archery), and also have a rest in front of the fireplace while listening to the medieval music. And, certainly, at the end you will see the great fire-show.
